Vseinstrumenti.ru: Design and Installation of Security and Firefighting Systems in the Logistics Complex
The Client
Vseinstrumenti.ru is the Top 100 largest online stores in Russia for home, garden, construction, and renovation products.
Situation
Before contacting our company, the buildings did not meet the requirements of Federal Law No. 123-FZ "Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements" and other regulatory documents, which blocked the full use of the facilities, reducing their market attractiveness.
Tasks
Development of projects and installation of automatic fire alarm systems, notification and evacuation control systems, and automatic water fire suppression systems at three major warehouses in the Moscow region near Domodedovo, Bykovo, and also in St. Petersburg.
Solution
The first stage involved the development of project documentation. Working closely with the client, we formed a technical specification that took into account the specifics of the facility.
Architectural building plans were used to model the optimal placement of pipelines and fire hydrants. Specialized software for hydraulic and thermotechnical calculations was applied, which helped eliminate errors at the design stage.
The installation stage began with preparatory work, including:
- Delivery of certified equipment (fire cabinets, pumps, and pipelines from brands Grundfos and Viega).
- Organization of logistical pathways within the multi-level complex for material movement.
The installation of the system inside the plumbing was carried out in four key stages:
- Installation of risers on each mezzanine level. Steel pipes with anti-corrosion coating were used to ensure the durability of the system.
- Installation of pump equipment in the machine room: the power of the units was selected based on the building's height (5 levels).
- Distribution of pipelines and installation of fire hydrants, including precise attachment to load-bearing structures.
- Commissioning and testing of the entire system, including checks for tightness and compliance with SNiPs.
At the final stage, our company involved a laboratory for conducting inspection tests. The system successfully passed a water pressure test of 1.6 MPa at the design pressure of 1.2 MPa, confirming the reliability of the structures.
Key Project Results
The project implementation led to the following outcomes:
- Reduction in fire suppression time to 15 minutes due to high pressure in the system.
- 100% compliance with federal regulations, including SP 485.1311500.2020.
- Increased facility safety: the system serves all mezzanine levels, ensuring complete coverage.
- Increased corporate value of the facility: after implementing the fire safety system, the facility was certified, and its attractiveness significantly grew.
Comparative table before and after implementation:
| Parameters | Before the Project | After the Project |
|---|---|---|
| Number of protected levels | 0 | 5 |
| Compliance with regulations | No | Full compliance |
| Fire suppression time | More than 30 minutes (manual method) | Less than 15 minutes |
The project proved that effective fire protection is not only about compliance with the law but also an investment in long-term safety and economic benefits. The designs used, accurate calculations, and high-quality equipment installation ensured reliable system performance for the client, as well as hidden benefits such as increased property value.
We are proud that, thanks to our efforts, the safety of one of the largest industrial complexes in the Moscow region has reached a new level.
